SO MANY images to edit from the past few weeks of wonderful sessions rolling into the holidays….. here is one I just have to share from Ozzie and Luna’s session. These two siblings were absolutely hilarious together. Ozzie (as in Osbourne) and Luna (as in Lunatic) have a yin and yang relationship. In case you can’t guess, that’s the stoic brother on the left being affectionately zinged by his wild sister on the right.

So this is Katie’s girl, Shelby, and we had a fantastic day shooting a few weeks ago. Happily, that was BEFORE it got so crazy hot like it is now!

Katie is a hairstylist and super stylish gal, so dolling up Shelby to do a full out glam session was a great fit. We went pink and sparkly with pearls and they looked amazing. Shelby was a good girl and worked it in her tutu and flower.  It’s a very friendly kind of place so Shelby was admired by both young and old and got a few pets from some kids at the park.  I love showing what a soft, friendly side Pitbulls have and how loving they are.  Thanks again to Katie for doing this Pretty Pup session with Shelby, and to Katie’s friend for coming along and playing puppy wrangler to help out.

Today I’m sharing another “Pretty Pup” session focusing on dogs who have been rescued or adopted, or are still looking for their Forever Homes.

Shell is a great example of someone who had originally been swayed by the negative stereotype of the Pitbull breed, but is now both an owner and an advocate.  Initially, she was somewhat leery of the breed after working for trauma doctors and taking care of patients with dog bites.  After researching and meeting some adorable pittes through rescues and adoption events, she began to feel a special affection for the breed.   Shell adopted her pitbull puppy at 6 weeks and the entire family is totally in love with him. Ruger is now 3 1/2 mo old and will be trained as a compassion therapy dog where he can visit children’s hospitals and nursing homes to brighten the lives of people undergoing medical care or feeling isolated.

Here is Shell and Ruger!
