Irene and her mom Melissa contacted me to plan their session and I knew we’d have some fun. After brainstorming about ideas for a theme they settled on ‘PJs in Bed’, since that’s their happy place.
Here is their story, from Irene:
“My mom saw me online and knew immediately she needed to meet me. I was estimated to be at least 10 years old and had a number of medical problems. I am completely deaf, had horrible ear infections, and ulcers all over my eyes that did not produce tears. When my mom and dad came to meet me it actually wasn’t love at first sight. They were nervous that I was too much to take on for a young couple, but ultimately decided that they would bring me home.
As soon as we got in the car everyone was so happy. My parents have taken me to the vet many times and I feel so great now! Except for the deafness, every single one of my ailments has cleared up, even the ones the vet said were permanent. I am like a whole new dog. My mom says that even though she was nervous at first, bringing me home was the best decision they’ve ever made.
My favorite thing is snuggling, snuggling, and snuggling. We also go on walks together and play with my younger brother. I mostly like to watch him because he is so fast.
Without my mom I don’t know that all of my medical problems would have been fixed. It’s already hard for senior dogs to get adopted, but when you add in potential vet bills it’s almost impossible! I’ve never been loved as much as I am now. They’ve even helped me discover how to play with toys and what blankets are for. I am a very lucky girl.”
